Need some guidance, please. My desktop is still running strong, but slow. In its' present state, about 80% of the memory is in use (4GB RAM). It is a W10 system, that is not W11 capable. I am not ready to replace the system. Can I upgrade the RAM to help, or would I be better off switching to a solid state hard drive?
TIA-

Hi:
I recommend you do both if you have the money.
This should be a compatible 4 GB memory chip for your notebook:
Crucial 4GB DDR3L-1600 UDIMM | CT51264BD160B | Crucial.com
A solid-state drive will make a big difference in the drive's overall performance, speeding up boot times and disk read/write speeds.
I recommend a Sandisk SSD Ultra 3D SSD in a storage capacity that meets your needs and budget.
A second choice would be the Western Digital Blue SA510 2.5" SSD.
You will need to purchase a 3.5" to 2.5" hard drive caddy to properly mount the smaller SSD where the 3.5" drive is now.
Your PC's Pentium G620 processor is not helping the performance any.
