I can't open my "floppy" disk drive (at least I think that is what it is)--Help

I recently purchased an HP Desktop M01-F2254. While I've been using computers 50 years or so, I have never found a computer with a "floppy" disk drive whose cover will not slide open. Can anyone help me?

It's called an optical (DVD) drive, and what you have there is a bezel blank for where that drive goes, but your PC does not have one.
