Hi @jthornberg,
Welcome to the HP Support Community!
Thanks for reaching out about your query regarding your PC!
We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.
If you're comfortable with opening the case, here’s how you can prepare for adding a GPU to support dual monitors:
Firstly, take a look inside the case to see if there’s an available PCIe slot for a graphics card. Next, make sure your power supply unit (PSU) has adequate capacity to handle the additional power requirements. Some dedicated GPUs also need extra power connectors, so it’s worth checking for those.
Lastly, examine your PC’s existing ports, your HP Envy may already have HDMI, DisplayPort, or USB-C ports capable of supporting dual monitors without needing a new GPU.
If you'd rather not open the case, feel free to share the exact model number of your HP Envy, and I’ll help you find the necessary details. Let me know how you’d like to proceed!
I'm glad I could help! 😊 If this resolved your issue, please mark it as "Accepted Solution" and click "Yes" on "Was this reply helpful?"—your feedback not only keeps us going but also helps others find the solution faster! 👍✨
Take care and have an amazing day ahead! 🚀
Best regards,
