Presaio SR1630NX

I have a very old Compaq Presario SR1630NX that is in very good shape. It's just obsolete. Can it be upgraded to use today for streaming, and such?

@Romull,

Not worth the expense.

That circa 2005 computer had XP OS, 2.2 GHz CPU, and (2) x 256 MB RAM.  That is a very slow unit.

1) Driver update will be an issue. Then the Retail WIN 10  $45

2) 4 GB RAM (4) x 1GB modules   $40

3) It has a PCIEx16 ver1.1 slot. It could only accept a PCIEx16 ver 2.0 graphic card.  That card would have to be under 40 watts. It has been suggested an AMD HD 4650 card. It is does not have WIN 10 drivers, only win 7.

This system is feedback driven thru Solution and Kudo flags. It's the only means of knowing if you have been served. Please click Accept as Solution, if your problem is solved. To say THANK YOU, press the "thumbs up symbol" to render a KUDO. You can render both Solution and KUDO..
