My question is, I am upgrading my CPU to the AMD Ryzen 5 4600G  and on google it says you might need to update bios for a new CPU to run, and when I try to update my bios it says there are no updates.

hi

google is a search engine, so even if it's not the problem, it's not an exact science!
Everything will depend on the model of the computer/motherboard!
So, without the computer model, difficult to answer, precisely
At hp, you have a specific motherboard model!
it mentions some compatible processors!
normally if the processor is in the list, updating the bios is not necessarily useful!
If the processor is not on the list, either it will work, if close enough to what is compatible
either it will not work, and there it may actually not be a bios update, to fix this
If a bios update is available, this will also not guarantee the operation of an unsupported processor.
HP updates, very very rarely mentions adding a processor
