My CD/DVD Drive will not recognise a BLANK disk for Writing.

The Driver shows "hp PLDS DVDROM DS8RESH".

Is there a way to change DVDROM to DVD - RAM

Replys are not helping. My Internal DVD can read disks with no problem. The Device Manager says it is a DVD-ROM drive, and as a re3sult, I cannot write to a BLANK disk. I ha an External DVD drive that I can plug into the USB port and it works 100% in writting to Blank disks, so it is not a software or a "installk Burning software" issue. The problem is with the internal drive. Can it be changed from a DVD-ROM to a DVD-RAM using a different driver or am I stuck having to replace the DVD drive with something else?
