Hi:

 

Yes, it will support a 2.5" SSD, but it will run at the SATA 2 (3.0 GB/S) speed.

 

It will still provide much better performance than the mechanical hard drive.

 

I have a 2.5 "SSD in my HP 8000 Elite CMT.

 

Works great.

 

You will need a 3.5" to 2.5" drive adapter to properly mount the 2.5" drive in the drive bay.
