"Wait so how do I transfer the data from my HDD to my SSD without them both being connected."
sorry @KillaAvery1 not specific enough
I was just saying to disconnect the HDD drive, after making the clone, with of course both connected
hdd and ssd connected to clone
then SSD on its own to test / be sure that it starts well with the SSD

The cloned SSD will have an exact copy of what is on the HDD. You may want to remove the HDD and set it aside for a few weeks to make sure the new SSD is good. If the new disk seems to be working fine then reformat the old HDD and use as as extra storage.

as @Prométhée said they both have to be connected when you do the clone.

I didn’t even see that reply and I just thought mine didn’t send lol. But one final question and I think I’ll have understood everything. Do you know where I am to plug in the power cable? I see where to plug in the sata cable but the power cable in my HDD seems to be plugged in a place where I don’t really have access.

@BeemerBiker has already explained to you it seems to me
You have the data connector, the narrower one, you saw that it connects to the hard drive, then to the motherboard, ok?
Then you have on your HDD disk, another larger cable, if you follow it you should, if there is another one, find it, it goes to the power box
https://support.hp.com/us-en/product/omen-by-hp-870-200/13687063/model/15741160/document/c05389962
otherwise, while waiting to find an adapter cable, you have a cd player
check, the second cable may arrive here, if there is only that of the dvd player, you can in the meantime, unplug it, and connect it to the SSD or HDD, it must be the same
Omen 870-244
you should have something like this
the computer seems modified but
we can see the power cables here

Alright so my SSD just came in. I see the CD player and the power cable connected to it however I don’t see another wider connector. I attached an image to give you a better understanding on what I’m looking at. I’ve been thinking about whether or not I should just stop using the hard drive altogether because of how slow it is. I wanted your opinion on that as well before I do anything. I really appreciate your help thus far.

Untwist the cables and look for another wide connector buried in the set of cables if not you'll have to unplug the optical drive and use its power cable. Have you located or decided on the disk cloning software yet? If you disconnect the optical drive you will have to use a USB flash stick to boot the cloning software.
You're better off not using the hard drive just keep it as a backup
