@AsianJuju,

Do you need assistance with swapping RAM and or the processor?

I found a video thank you very much but was that all I needed?

@AsianJuju,

No, that is not all that is needed.  I need to know the wattage or part number of your power supply, and I still don't know if we are talking about an SFF (Small Form Factor) or a TWR (Tower) model.  Please clarify.

You'll need a graphics card to make the HP EliteDesk 800 G1 TWR/SFF playable for games.  Knowing what the wattage of your PC is as well if it is a TWR/SFF, will assist me to suggest a couple of options.  Also, could you please tell me what games your child wants to play?

In addition, it would be very helpful to know the part number/model of the primary (boot) drive currently installed.  You may have to upgrade that as well, depending on what you have.

Kind Regards,

My apologies but can you tell me where I can locate this information so I can let my son know. Thanks a million and again I'm sorry for my ignorance.

@AsianJuju,

Assuming your son is already in possession of the PC, perhaps your good son or a trusted PC-savvy family acquaintance could answer my questions?

Ok provided my login information so they can directly send that over. But it's definitely a TWR!

@AsianJuju,

OK, an HP EliteDesk 800 G1 TWR is powered by a 320-watt power supply.

Personally, I would recommend this particular RTX 3050 graphics card model, which has a low TDP (Total Design Power) of just 70-watt, and does not need a PCIe power cable: https://www.amazon.com/GIGABYTE-GeForce-Graphics-WINDFORCE-GV-N3050OC-6GL/dp/B0CVHD8PLP/ref=sr_1_3?c....
