I need to replace the 240w power supply to a minimum of 300w or more so I can use a different video card in this computer. I need a part number. Or directions to modify this computer for a generic power supply that will work. Thank  you. Tom

Thank you for posting on the HP Support Community.

I see you need help in upgrading the power supply, HP Compaq 8000 Elite PC. Don't worry as I have a few suggestions which should help.

After reading your post, I did go through the Product specifications of your product and found that you can install 320 W standard efficiency active PFC (CMT) You can use HP Partsurfer to order the part using your computer product model no.

Hope this helps! Keep me posted for further assistance.

Thank you very much. I went to the first page that shows the 320w power supply but when I went to the parts list to order it, the parts list doesn't show it or a part number. Any help will be appreciated. Thank you, Tom
