I just purchased a new HP Pavilion TP01 desktop computer for the sole purpose of having a DVD RW in it. It has the silver port covering but nothing inside. I need to purchase an Internal drive for this computer asap. I have work that needs completed. I don't want to sent my computer back so I am wiling to purchase the DVD RW drive but don't know where or what to ask for. Please help. Kathryn Bailey baileygail

Welcome to our HP community forum!

 

I checked out the specs of your HP Pavilion Desktop TP01-2234 PC, and it is advertised/sold without an optical drive:

You said it was a new desktop, but the information you provided shows that this PC's warranty has already expired:

These days few people use optical drives.  If you need an optical drive, I recommend an external (USB plug-in) optical drive.
