My laptop has been crashing occasionally for the last year or so and it seems to be resolved when I perform a windows update but then the issues return. I then performed a Windows Memory Diagnostic test which took roughly 30 minutes and in the late stages it confirmed that there were indeed issues with the hardware. It also said "To identify and repair these problems, contact the computer manufacturer".
Any guidance on how to describe or perhaps resolve the issue would be appreciated.

Your notebook's memory chip(s) have to be replaced.
Below is the link to the service teardown video:
Removing & replacing parts for HP Pavilion 14-dv0000 | HP Computer Service
If your notebook has one memory chip, you will have to remove and replace it.
I believe that the models with that product number come with 1 x 8 GB of DDR4-3200 CL22 memory and an Intel i5-1135G7 processor, correct?
Since you have to take the notebook apart, you may want to consider installing a second 8 GB memory chip and have 16 GB of memory.
This should be a compatible replacement memory chip for your notebook:
