@Miefer,

Welcome to our HP Community forum!

Sounds like someone has quite the ant-i-virus problem!

My friend, whilst the intention is understandable, spraying chemicals directly into a laptop is not safe. It could damage the delicate electronics, cause corrosion, or even pose a fire hazard if residue gets on components that heat up during use.

A safer solution would be:

  1. Power off and disconnect the laptop completely.
  2. Use compressed air to try and dislodge the ants gently.
  3. Consider carefully disassembling the keyboard (if you're tech-savvy) to clean it thoroughly—or taking it to a professional.

Sometimes the little critters are attracted to sugary residues, so a good cleaning might prevent them from coming back.

Your experience gives a whole new meaning to the expression: battling a buggy keyboard! 😅

Kind Regards,

NonSequitur777
