Hi @Videogamedood88

Welcome to the HP Support Community! We're here to help you get back up and running.

I understand how unsettling it must be to power on your Omen gaming PC and be greeted by a white HP screen that blocks you from reaching Windows.

You’ve already shown patience in trying to move past it, so let’s go through a clear set of steps to help you regain access and update the diagnostic tool properly.

Step-by-step actions

Perform a hard reset

  • Power off the PC completely.
  • Disconnect the power cable and hold the power button for 15 seconds.
  • Reconnect the cable and power on again.
  • This clears temporary states that may be locking the diagnostic screen.

Access Startup Menu

  • Turn on the PC and immediately press Esc repeatedly until the Startup Menu appears.
  • From here, press F2 to open HP PC Hardware Diagnostics UEFI.
  • If the diagnostics tool launches, you can bypass the outdated message and run basic tests.

Update HP PC Hardware Diagnostics UEFI

  • On another Windows PC with internet access, download the latest version from HP’s site:
HP PC Hardware Diagnostics | HP® Support
  • Create a USB drive with the updated diagnostics.
  • Insert the USB into your Omen PC and restart.
  • Press EscF2 to boot diagnostics from the USB and update the onboard tool.

Try booting into Windows directly

  • If the diagnostic screen still blocks startup, press EscF9 at boot to open Boot Device Options.
  • Select your primary hard drive or SSD to attempt bypassing diagnostics and load Windows.

Check BIOS settings

  • Press EscF10 at startup to enter BIOS Setup.
  • Under Advanced or Tools, look for “Diagnostics” and disable automatic launch if enabled.
  • Save changes and restart.

You’ve already shown persistence by trying to move past the screen. Once the diagnostics are updated via USB or disabled in BIOS, your system should boot normally into Windows. Would you like me to walk you through creating the USB update drive step by step, so you can prepare it quickly and resolve this?
