I want to replace the Intel Optain with a m.2 PCLe NVMe SSD. THIS IS A PAVILLION 590-P0050.  I tried and while the bios recognized the ssd it would not assign a drive letter. It showed up as memory serving the hdd boot drive. I wonder if this machine will support a NvmE drive?

Since the PC came with Intel Optane memory, the slot should support a NVMe SSD.

On some model PC's the BIOS has a setting to disable the Intel Optane memory, so I recommend you check your PC's BIOS settings to see if there is a setting to disable the Intel Optane memory.

Look under the FAQs section for further information.
