CPU upgrade help!

I want to upgrade my HP Pro 3405 Micropower PC... Dual-core CPU to a quad-core one. My current CPU - AMD E2-3200 APU Dual Core with Radeon(tm) HD Graphics and I want to upgrade to - AMD A6-3670 (2.7 GHz, 4 MB L2 cache, Radeon HD 6530D Graphics, 100w.

So far I have contradictory information on the web! On some sites I found it as an allowed upgrade, and on some it is not mentioned at all as a possible upgrade! The A6-3600 and A6-3650 are listed everywhere, and the A6-3670K is somewhere mentioned, and somewhere it isn't.

If possible, I have an additional question... is a more powerful cooler needed due to the higher power (100W instead of 65W)?!? Thanks in advance with best regards!

Your HP Pro 3405 Microtower PC, according to: http://h10032.www1.hp.com/ctg/Manual/c03550748.pdf, is fitted with the PEGATRON 2ACF system board.

In terms of CPU compatibility, CPU-Upgrade: AMD E2-3200 (HX) CPU

 suggests that an AMD A6-3670 is compatible, and when we look here: https://www.userbenchmark.com/System/HP-Pro-3405-Series/2720, we see HP Pro 3405 desktops fitted with A8-3870, A6-3650, and A6-3620.

In addition, the A6-3670K (TDP = 100 watt) and the A8-3870K (TDP = 100 watt) should also be compatible.

Yes, a 100-watt processor does generate considerably more heat than a 65-watt processor. I could not find any documentation whether or not a beefier CPU heatsink exists for your desktop, so that leaves improving the airflow inside your case.

Page 1, bottom right section of the illustrated parts and service map for the HP Pro 3405 Microtower PC indicates that only one model heatsink for PC's with the AMD processors was offered.

Ellis 34xx_35xx_MT_Win8 IPSM.fm (hp.com)

I assume that heatsink was made to work on any of the supported processors offered in the model series.
