Hi,

Windows 7 32 bit is limited to less than four GBs of RAM.

You can do two 2 GB sticks of RAM.

I would do matching pairs to avoid conflicts or problems. Crucial Memory (Link) should help if you cannot find a matching 2 GB stick of Hynix.

Regards

Ouch!

I had not considered Windows 7 to be restrictive.

Thank you for your response.

I’ll be getting a 2GB card.

Ruska34 wait a second, not so fast -4GB of RAM really sucks. You want at least 8GB of RAM.  Your PC does support Windows 7 64-bit.  You should consider at least to upgrade your PC's Windows 7 32-bit to Windows 7 64-bit using a Windows ISO installation disk.  -Don't have a Windows 7 installation disk? Browse the internet (search eBay, for example) for: "Microsoft Windows 7 Pro Professional SP1 X64 Bit DVD with Product Key HD" or something like that, and licenses can be bought cheap.

Once you get an installation disk, you can upgrade to Windows 7 64-bit pretty easy, there are plenty of instructional/tutorial videos available online -like this one: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ado9IO234ek

One of the helpful Windows upgrade features is: "Upgrade to a newer version of Windows and keep your files, settings, and programs." -If you were to go this route, the recommendation is to create a backup of your HDD/SSD first.

If this is too technical, stick with getting an additional 2GB RAM stick as suggested earlier.

Good Luck!

Thank you Nonseqitur777.

I plan on just sticking another 2GB in for now but I may get the ambition to upgrade to 64 bits and will take your advice.

Thanks again,
