HP pavilion gaming desktop 690-0024 

I want to upgrade to a Ryzen 7 2700x from a Ryzen 5 2400g. I want to make sure the motherboard is compatible with the new cpu

@Ignacio_ Though we do not recommend or support upgrades, you may use the below information to upgrade the CPU using the parts tested by HP: Click here & look under Processor upgrade information, There are no other information available on upgrading this device but the ones mentioned above.

 

That said, I personally recommend you get in touch with a local tech store and have him/her look at it, so you don't end up paying for something that wouldn't work on your device, just to be on a safer side.
