Update that broke the IME of the Mainboard;
I downloaded this Firmware update and applied to my lab of workstations that are still using Z200.
I noticed in the BIOS, that the menu of Management options disappeared after the update.
The Main Page of information still reflects the old one.
BIOS Uodate to 1.22 went perfectly fine.
Please kindly advise if this is the wrong update, and if so, why did the update still go through and smoked the board.
I believe the correct update to apply is;
So why is 6.2.61.3535 Rev.A listed under Z200 drivers page and why did the firmware updater still proceed? I have seen the updater reject updating due to the wrong board. I have tested 6.0.40.1215 Rev. A one and it is working.
Are there any ways to flush the stuck update or revert the failed update board? Currently I have 3 that lost their IME Options in the BIOS. and Booted up into Windows, it says no Intel ME Driver found.
Please kindly assist. Thank you very much.
I hope this is not a cheap trick HP is doing to kill off old but still operational systems.

from the "ME" update SP file you downloaded, copy the contents of the DOS folder onto a bootable usb key and insert it into a usb 2.0 port on the system
nowtry doing a full CMOS reset by powering off the system, remove pwr cord, press pwr button for 15 sec, then open case and remove cmos battery, disable power to the hard drive(s) and then press cmos reset switch for 10 sec
replace cmos, power back on, and then from the usb key try the ME update again from a dos prompt
