HP TouchSmart 520
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I have a HP TouchSmart 520, SN [Personal Information Removed]. Would like to know if I can increase the RAM memory from the current 6GB, if so the type of memory I would need to purchase.

Thanks in advance

Hi:

Below is the link to the Crucial memory report for your PC.

https://www.crucial.com/compatible-upgrade-for/hP-Compaq/touchsmart-520-1047c

They have compatible memory for sale.

If you have 6 GB in there now, you can remove the 2 GB chip and replace it with a 4 GB chip to max the memory out to 8 GB.

Below is the link to the servicing guide...

Not only will you max out the memory, but since you will have 2 x 4 GB installed, the memory will run in the higher performing dual channel mode.

Right now, the 6 GB is running in the lower performing single channel mode.
