Hello HP Community,

I hope you're doing well. I am seeking guidance regarding the possibility of upgrading the RAM on my HP All-In-One system. Currently, my system is equipped with 8GB 2400 SODIMM Samsung RAM. I have noticed that the system consistently uses nearly 80% of the available RAM, which impacts its performance during multitasking or running memory-intensive applications.

Could you please confirm whether my system's RAM can be upgraded? If possible, I would also greatly appreciate recommendations for compatible RAM options to improve performance.

Thank you for your help and advice!

Best regards, Sandhya

Hi, Sandhya:

I'm doing fine, and I hope you are too.

Your PC has two memory slots and can support up to 2 x 16 GB of memory.

If you want to add an 8 GB memory chip in the available slot, this one should work along with the Samsung memory.

Amazon.in: Buy Crucial RAM 8GB DDR4 3200MHz CL22 (or 2933MHz or 2666MHz) Laptop Memory CT8G4SFRA32A ...

If you want to max out the memory, you can buy two of these:

Amazon.in: Buy Crucial RAM 16GB DDR4 3200 MHz CL22 Laptop Memory CT16G4SFRA32A Online at Low Prices ...

Unfortunately, I can't find a service manual or video for your specific model series PC.

This video seems to be similar to the design of your PC, so hopefully, it will be of help.

First, a big thanks to Paul Tikkanen for their guidance so far—it's been incredibly helpful! I’m planning to upgrade my RAM and wanted to check: can I simply swap out the old modules, or are there any steps I need to follow before removing them to ensure a smooth upgrade process? Thanks in advance for any tips!

You're very welcome.

Memory is plug and play

You just need to remove the existing memory and install the new memory.

Hi Paul,

I hope you're doing well!

I wanted to thank you for recommending the Crucial 16×2 GB RAM sticks—it’s been really helpful as I plan my upgrade. However, I have a quick question about the speed specifications. My system currently has RAM running at 2400 MT/s, and I’m not sure whether I should stick with the same speed or consider going for a higher one.

Looking forward to your advice. Thanks in advance!

Best regards, Sandhya

Hi, Sandhya:

The DDR4-3200 memory will automatically bridge to 2400 MHz, so using that speed will be fine.

I think the Crucial DDR4-2400 CL17 memory is significantly more expensive in India.
