HP Compaq 8200 Elite USDT
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hi all,

I was recently trying to upgrade the CPU in my desktop with an Intel Core i5-3570 from an Intel core i5-2400s, and the computer wouldn't boot. It beeps several times and the monitor stays blank. Is this because there isn't a driver for this CPU installed, or because the built-in graphics card isn't recognized? Running Windows 10 64, and HP Compaq 8200 Elite USDT.

The new cpu integrated graphics are Intel HD graphics 2500, and my current graphics are intel HD 2000.

Thanks!

Never mind, did some more searching around, and discovered from a different post that you cannot upgrade to 3rd gen from 2nd gen. What about an Intel Core i5-2500K? I saw in the parts and service map for my pc, that an intel core i5-2500 is supported, but i saw no mention of the 2500k. I assume it is compatible, since the only different thing from the 2500 is the better graphics and overclocking capabilities.

Thanks!
