envy 750-140
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hello everyone. I have an HP Envy 750-140, it seems to have all of the specs I need to run the GTX 1050 ti. The 1050 card is as far forward as I can bring the this computer without upgrading the PSU. Would rather not change the PSU. But...

BTW PC specs here ----> https://support.hp.com/us-en/document/c04836621

One problem, the video card needs a 6 pin connector for the fans(?) and the tailor made power supply built into the PC doesn't have the 6 pin.

Since the PSU is custom made the connectors for the HD's are side mounted(?) to save space, instead  of the familiar 4 pin molex(?) Which thing do I look up to find a PSU with that kind of connector?

-----> Or, better yet, is there a ready made splitter that can add the 6 pin to my rig?   <--------

update ------------------------

Found this  quoting from wikipedia about PCI express

  • A full-sized ×16 graphics card[13] may draw up to 5.5 A at +12 V (66 W) and 75 W combined after initialization and software configuration as a "high power device".

Wouldn't that mean I shouldnt need the 6 pin connector if the card is rated at 75 watts?

update ----------------------

Thanks very much!

@redfoxridge,

You did I nice job of laying out the inquiry, but you make an error !

While a standard configured GTX 1050Ti is 75W,  the card you selected might not be 75W

EDITED AFTER THE FACT ( made an link error). See corrected link here

Supported wattage issue/amps and why the 6 pin plug

BTW, why that card?

@Wb2001 You referenced the specs for the 1050 ti and misquoted the specs. Your answer isn't helping.

Please leave me alone. Pretty please.
