Hello,
I've recently acquired the OMEN by HP 22-1222nq.
I've successfully installed a second M2 SSD and a SATA SSD.
I've seen that in the back only a single SATA cable is provided (and now it's used with the supplementary SATA SSD).
My question is
1. if this is normal - only a singe SATA cable is provided in the back (and NO SATA cables were provided by HP)
2. does anyone has a picture in details with the motherboard to detect de other SATA ports that I will need to provide with SATA cables.
Thank you all for the support !
KR,
Livio

The only official motherboard viewers I know of are here
Omen 25 30 25L 30L
--and--
HP 873-0000
You have either the Blizzard or the Artic and each has an "oc" or OverClock version
Go to the below site and enter your serial number
https://partsurfer.hp.com/partsurfer/
look for the part number of the motherboard. Possibly there is a picture but usually you have to google for an image of the motherboard
BlizzardOC

ArticOC
https://www.google.com/search?q=N27486-601&sourceid=chrome&ie=UTF-8
You will need your own SATA cable: Straight, right angle, left angle, or low profile

Thank you !
For the GT22 the motherboard is ArctiCOC Z790. I've identified the SATA ports.
This is the motherboard:

You have 4 SATA which is good as some systems only have 2
Spare cables are generally not provided by OEMs, not just HP.
Possibly the power supply will have an empty socket or two for the power.
I am not familiar with AMD CPUs and systems. Some of the Intel motherboards have restrictions on which SATA sockets can be used as connecting an NVME takes up a PCIe lane and if that lanes was allocated to SATA#5 then the #5 cannot be used. In addition, some of the cheaper intel CPUs have fewer PCIe lanes than the more expensive ones and that further limits the number of PCIe boards and NVME devices and SATA that can be used. The B550 chipset on your motherboard is designed for 8 SATA ands since there are only 4 slots I assume the ones left off were the ones needed for the NVME.
I think you are ok You need to pick up an SATA data cable and possibly a Y or splitter to add power connectors., Before adding a lot of SATA disk drive you might consider network attached storage. Adding large mechanical drive to a gaming system adds heat.
