Hi
I have a HP Pavilion Slimline s5-1020uk Desktop PC which I have tried to upgrade the graphics card. The card is an MSI GeForce GT710 but when I have installed this the pc will not boot up.
I have updated to the latest BIOS driver and looked for help online but all I keep seeing is people say amend the Legacy mode in the security section in the BIOS. Unfortunately, I don’t seem to have this option in my BIOS.
Any help would be appreciated.

Hi:
Unfortunately, the BIOS in your PC is too old to support that model video card.
That is why it doesn't work.
Your PC can only run 'legacy' video cards, such as the older GeForce GT 610, GeForce GT 210 or the AMD Radeon HD 6450.
The above 3 cards should work with the 220W power supply your PC has.
Unfortunately, I believe the GeForce GT 610 is getting very expensive.

Hi Again
Thanks for your advice around the graphics card not being compatible.
I took your advice and have got myself a GeForce GT 610 card. This was installed tonight and I am still having issues.
I have uninstalled drivers for built in card tehn powered off.
Then went to BIOS and confirmed the onboard driver was disabled
Installed new card and connected cable to card and tv
When I switch on pc I just get a blank screen
Any advice please?

Answer
"the BIOS in your PC is too old to support that model video card."
doesn't look quite right.
There are a number of posts over internet, claiming, they're installed succesfully GT710 on HP7900, but having minor issues like this one with sleeping mode, or no issues at all.
My own experience, as described in geforce forums, - card works only untill i try to load its' drivers, no matter which version. After load - black screen. But in safe mode afterwards - it does see the card, describe it's model right in properties.
Btw. Popular opinion about "too weak PSU for the card on HP7900" is false: i tried the same card on H110 platform with even weaker PSU - it works nicely both on windows 7 and windows 10.
