I just bought the 870-135vx CTO and use if for video editing with Premiere Pro CC. I need to ingest some older DV video and would like to install a 1394 Firewire 800 card.
What free slots are available on this computer for a card like that? I think I see a small slot very close and just above the Nvidia 1070 card but I'm not sure what kind of slot it is - PCI Express X1?
Can I install a 1394 card in this computer and if so what type should I get?
Thank you.

Hi,
It only has 1 slot
- 1 PCI Express x16 (Gen3.0)
- 1 PCI Express x1 (Gen3.0)
Source: https://support.hp.com/au-en/document/c05281686
and the case:
- Height: 40.1 cm (15.79 in) unpacked
- Width: 42.0 cm (16.54 in) unpacked
- Depth: 16.5 cm (6.50 in) unpacked
- Weight: 10.5 Kg (23.20 lbs) - without packaging
this should have anough room for you to add a PCIe-Firewire card such as
https://www.newegg.com/Product/ProductList.aspx?Description=PCIe%20x1%20firewire%20cards&Submit=ENE
Please check the back of the machine, you may need a low profile bracket.
Regards.
