Product: Compaq Elite 8300 Convertible
Operating System: Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I recently bought a HP Compaq Elite 8300 Convertible Microtower. It had 4 GB of RAM in which I upgraded to 12 GB. It also came with a 500 GB hard drive with space for 2 more. It also came with 2 disc drives. I recently bought a 1 TB hard drive to put in this computer. I hooked it up and connected the necessary connections. I know I must access the HP BIOS to activate the SATA port. When I go to the BIOS, it is asking me for a BIOS password with only 3 attempts. I don't know the password. Is there a way to reset the password? Is there another way to activate the port without the password?

The Service Manual section 12 page 305 should be of value.

This system is feedback driven thru Solution and Kudo flags. It's the only means of knowing if you have been served. Please click Accept as Solution, if your problem is solved. To say THANK YOU, press the "thumbs up symbol" to render a KUDO. You can render both Solution and KUDO..
