Hi @flycaster1

My pleasure.

Sounds good. You will see a big improvement in image quality with a 4060.

Unplugged everything from PC. Knocked out the slot covers. Place the RTX into its appropriate slot. All going great. However, the PC's 8-pin is does not fit into the RTX's port. The PC's pin coverings are slightly larger than the holes in the RTX...no fit. This is crazy that this should have happened. Got the feeling that HP is so propitiatory, I'll need an adapter...if one even exits.  Help, help. Hope I'll be able to return the RTX (got it as a gift from Amazon.)

EDIT:

False alarm. I was not orienting the 6-pins correctly. Falsely assumed that they were to go into the first 6 pin of the card; whereas, I should have put them into the last 6-pins of the card. The 2-pin of the PSU goes into the first part l(left side) of the 8-pin card. Sorry for the panic.

Well, got to say I'm a very happy camper. Everything seems to be working just fine, and faster...as hoped for. Although the card's fans are always running, they are rather quite. And, the core temps of the PC are only a little higher than before...no problem. Thanks again for all your patient help.

Hi @flycaster1

My pleasure.

I can't say if the 4060 fans have a zero RPM mode. You would have to check the specific manufacturer's specs.

I have an older ASUS 2080 which has a zero RPM mode. The fans only spin when the card hits 60 degrees Celsius.
