Installing new Samsung SSD

I am trying to install a new ssd onto my computer and when installing windows 11 through the installation assistant I can not find my ssd only the installation usb. I tried downloading the intel rst driver, but it is not compatible with my system. I am at my end and super confused.

The Intel storage controller driver is not applicable to AMD platforms.

If your specific model PC is either an OMEN BY HP 40L GAMING DESKTOP GT21-1324 PC with an individual product number of 8R3T1AA#ABA, or an OMEN BY HP 40L GAMING DESKTOP GT21-1304 PC with an individual product number of 8R3T0AA#ABA, it is supported by the HP cloud recovery tool which you can use to create a bootable USB recovery drive that will reinstall Windows, the drivers and the software that originally came with your PC.

Here is an info link for how to use the utility.  You will need a 32 GB USB flash drive to create the recovery media with.

You can download the software from the Microsoft Store:

If you have to use the tool on another PC you will need to enter the full product number of the PC you have in the tool's search window in order to proceed.

If that doesn't work, or you do not have one of those two model PC's see this related discussion and use the driver that forum member used in order for Windows to find the drive.

Thank you for your reply! I am having trouble even starting the hp cloud recovery tool at this point. It is not detecting any usb. I put a 32gb in and a 64 gb and none are showing. I have also tried reformatting them and nothing.

Unfortunately, I wouldn't be able to help you with that. 

I have always used PNY 32 GB USB flash drives for the Cloud recovery tool, and never had a problem.

So i need a specific usb drice just to use this tool?

Theoretically, any 32 GB USB flash drive should work but apparently they don't.

I mean if it doesn't show up on the screen to select the drive, there isn't any way you can make that happen.

It either works or it doesn't.

I just know that from personal experience on using that tool on many different forum members PC's my PNY drives work for me.

If you give me your PC's product number I will see if I am able to create a recovery drive for your PC with one of my PNY flash drives.

It will be a little while before I get back to you.
