HI! I just got my new Seagate barracuda 2tb harddrive, which I was going to use as my 😧 disk. I connected it wit sata cable, but when i turned on the computer, there was no new disk showing. Nothing in disc management either. The wires are properly connected. Under storage in the controlpanel, it is registered 1,81 TB, but I cant find the drive. What can i do?

hi

Hello

this is a recorded response (macro))
we need the exact model of your computer, and the product number
To find it follow this
for a desktop computer

HP Desktop PCs - How Do I Find My Model Number or Product Number? | HP® Customer Support

and for a laptop:

HP Notebook PCs - How Do I Find My Product Name or Number? | HP® Customer Support

give screenshots of the parameters you mention
Is it visible or not in the bios menu?
the translation gives me, as if you have connected 1 sata cable ..
But do you have the sata data and power connected?

Both satacables are connected (data and power). And the harddrive is visible in the bios menu, but not in the disc management, or anywhere else when the computer is on.

strange, still an inconsistency of HP
the reference gives this, so we don't know the exact model:

Yes, but that does not tell me anything more, this is pure a function which is not necessary, in the problem here, it seems to me
If it's visible in bios it should be ok, it just had to be formatted to be visible in explorer, so should be in this state (disk management ) :
