I was considering buying a new computer but then got to thinking why not just replace the motherboard and cpu in the current case of the machine I currently have - a Pavilion a6330f. With all the upgrading I've done to it, It would probably be cheaper to just buy a new motherboard, CPU and RAM.
So, my question is what, if any, motherboards would fit in a Pavilion a6330f case that are mightily much better and newer than the motherboard currently in there?
I was looking at an Asus Prime B450M-A which might not be mightily much better (although it might be!) but it's certainly a lot newer! However, in a previous and separate post, someone pointed out the mounting stand-offs might not fit a new board ... So ... Are there any boards that might fit my case? Will the Asus mentioned above fit?
I'd prefer not to go to the expense of buying a new case and power unit if I can help it.
Thanks.

Problems abound:
1) You will have to cut out the rear chassis to create opening of the Asus board.
2) Re-wire the front panel connector, once you determine what wires goes where.
3) New board might not accept the the stand-offs. Now you have a short circuit.
