I've been getting the blue screen with the netr28x.sys error and i would like to know if I can replace the  Ralink RT3290 802.11bgn Wi-Fi adapter with the Intel Dual Band Wireless-AC 7260 802.11 ac 2x2 WiFi + BT 4.0    HP Part # 710661-001 if not what would be the best replacement option.

Since your notebook has an AMD processor and chipset, the Intel Dual Band Wireless-AC 7260 Wi-Fi adapter may not work.

If your PC has two antenna wires connected to the  Ralink RT3290 Wi-Fi adapter, I recommend you replace the card with the Broadcom equivalent to the Intel 7260AC:

Broadcom BCM4352 802.11ac 2x2 Wi-Fi + Bluetooth 4.0 combo    HP part # 724935-001

You should be able to find Broadcom card on eBay.

Search by the HP part number.
