HP EliteDesk 705 G3 Small Form Factor PC

Hello, I currently have a HP EliteDesk 705 G3 SFF PC and I was wondering if I could upgrade my CPU from an AMD A10 PRO 8770 to an Intel Xeon processor.

PC model: HP 705 G3 SFF PC (with Win10 64bit OS)

Motherboard model: 8265 KBC Version 06.21

Current CPU: AMD PRO A10-8770

Current BIOS: P06 Ver. 02.43

Current power supply: Hp stock PSU 200w

The Intel processor I want to upgrade to would be the Intel Xeon E5-2630 v4 @ 2.20GHz

Hi:

What you would like to do is impossible.

You cannot install an Intel processor in any AMD desktop and visa-versa.

Below is the link to the HP quickspecs for your PC.

QuickSpecs HP Elite 705 G3 Business Desktop Business PCs (dectrader.com)

The list of processors HP offered in the model series starts on page 8.

If you look at this benchmarking database, there are better AMD processors you can install based on the reports than what are listed in the HP quickspecs document.

UserBenchmark: HP EliteDesk 705 G3 SFF Compatible Components

I see some with Ryzen 5 Pro 1500 and a Ryzen 7 1800X

You would need to install a low-profile graphics card in order for the Ryzen 3 Pro 1200, Ryzen 5 Pro 1500, or the Ryzen 7 1800X to work.
