Hello , will Intel core 2 quad q9400 work on 8000 elite CMT

Hi:

 

Below is the link to the HP Quickspecs for the 8000 Elite model series.

 

HP Compaq 8000 Elite Series (bargainhardware.co.uk)

 

According to the specifications, the Q9400 is not supported.

 

If you didn't buy the processor yet, I would buy one on the list that is supported such as the Q9500.

 

If you have it in hand, then update the BIOS to the latest version and hope it has the microcode for the Q9400.

 

If the processor is not supported, you will get an 1801 microcode error.
