Hi, I've been thinking if I should buy AMD Radeon RX 550 Low Profile as an upgrade, but I am not sure whether it works with my SFF unit or not, can anyone help me if an RX 550 Low Profile works with my SFF unit?

Hi:

The recommended power supply to run that card is 250W.

It has a maximum power draw of 50 W.

I believe that your SFF comes with a 180W power supply which would be insufficient to run the card and the rest of the components in your PC.

If it comes with a 240W power supply, the card should work OK with that.

Do you by any chance know any graphics card that will work on it if that's the case? I really want to upgrade it, thanks.

You're very welcome.

The specs indicate they come with 180W power supplies:

Older 600 G's used to come with 240W power supplies.

The only half decent graphics card that I know of that may work with a 180W PS would be the Nvidia GT1030 low profile card.  It has a power draw of 30W.

Get the one with DDR5 memory and not DDR4 memory.

Other than that, the older, weaker GT 710 low profile card should work, which only has a power draw of 19W.

Hi, I started looking for those two graphics card in the online shops I naturally order from, but I can't find one other than AMD Radeon R7 450 low profile, does that work?

Hi @Richard467

According to the following document (page 2) the RX 550X is supported by the computer

Hi, @Richard467

The R7-450 actually has a higher power draw than the RX550 at 65W.

I don't think it is a good idea to install a 50W card in your PC with a 180W power supply, but perhaps it will work.

If you look at the table on page 16 of the 600 G4 Quickspecs, there are two variations of the RX 550.

One is supported for the MT and one is supported for the SFF, so I'm thinking if you want the RX 550, it has to be the RX 550X.

Should I go with the R7 450? I can't find any compatible graphics cards available other than the R7 450...

How about the R7 430 or the GT 730 that are listed as compatible.

My Dell PC came with a R7 450, but my PC has a 250W power supply.

The R7 430 one sold out months ago, while the GT730 was only in full profile not low, but I saw an R5 430, will that work?
