HP website states this processor is supported by my motherboard. I read that you should check to see if your bios version supports as well before installation.

Hi

there are a few different models
computers / motherboards
difficult to answer precisely
that said, if the motherboard is indicated to support this or that processor, except in rare cases, it must be without updating the bios
besides one rarely finds an update with indication of models processor added!

we need the exact model of your computer, and the product number
To find it follow this
for a desktop computer

HP Desktop PCs - How Do I Find My Model Number or Product Number? | HP® Customer Support
and for a laptop
HP Notebook PCs - How Do I Find My Product Name or Number? | HP® Customer Support

Give the full name with the product number P / N

this is not a model:
HP Desktop M01-F1xxx
the requested product number must look like this
Product Number: 9EE50AA # ABA
the model corresponding to this number will therefore be
HP Desktop - M01-F1033wb

hi

"Product name : HP Desktop M01-F0xxx "

In fact, as I said, your model is this:

M01-F0014 Product Specifications

annoying that it hasn't been fixed since...

Motherboard
Erica2

so you see this

  • TDP: up to 65 W
  • Socket type: AM4
  • Motherboard supports the following processor upgrades:
    Processor
    TDP
    Integrated graphics
AMD Ryzen 5 3400G, 3.7 GHz Base frequency, up to 4.2 GHz burst frequency, 4 MB cache, Quad core (Picasso)
    65 W
    Radeon Vega 11 Graphics
AMD Ryzen 3 3200G, 3.6 GHz Base frequency, up to 4.0 GHz burst frequency, 4 MB cache, Quad core (Picasso)
    65 W
    Radeon Vega 8 Graphics
AMD Athlon 300UGE, 3.6 GHz Base frequency, 4 MB cache, Dual core (Picasso)
    65 W
    Radeon Vega 3 Graphics

I don't know if this changes anything, but I already see an error...
It is indicated that you have (not in the list?)
AMD Ryzen™ 3 3200U

but whatever, here it is mentioned a compatible processor, so it should be

  • HP name: Erica
  • SSID: 8643

and last one see

see what is mentioned for the previous version also, but I don't see anything here, concerning, the processor
so simply try the processor, it should work!
