HP Pavilion tg01 0500nd
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I have recently bought this pc and I use it much to work on and Game. When the Cpu is on full load it is on around 76 to 84c and I don't know if  that's to hot. I saw on internet an extra fan would help the temp decrease. Is it possible and is there are possible way to lower the temp off the Cpu without replacing the Cpu cooler itself?

Greetings,

Welcome to the forum.

I am not a HP employee.

Sustained CPU temps of 84 C may shorten the life of the CPU. Intermittent temps in this range are okay.

Is your PC blue screening or locking?

Intel CPUs throttle at 100 degrees Celsius. 84 C isn't bad but could be better.

Adding an extra fan is dependent on the chassis options and additional fan headers on the motherboard. Your MB has one system fan header which is probably in use. You could buy a fan splitter if you can add a second fan in this chassis.

There are many factors involved to lower CPU temps.

Some fixes may require reapplying CPU TIM or replacing the CPU cooler.

You may void the warranty if you modify components.

Regards

Thank you for helping, I don't have bluescreens or something else that's not good, if I want to put an extra fan where can I place it and which Cpu cooler is good and will make a difference under €60.

Hi,

You're very welcome.

Any modifications made or damage caused while making modifications will affect your warranty. You may want to have a good, local PC tech take a look if HP (Link to HP Support) cannot correct the CPU thermal problem.

HP does not provide much information on the chassis (Link to specs). I have never worked with this chassis or the motherboard.

The first thing I would try is reapply CPU thermal paste. This may help to reduce CPU temps.

I don't see where a second chassis fan could be added to the chassis. No place up top and it looks like the front is not good.

The CPU heat sink/MB mounting points look standard. You may be able to upgrade this part.

This case is about six inches wide. You would be limited to installing a different low profile CPU heat sink and fan in this chassis.

Regards
