@mysticweee,

Welcome to our HP Community forum!

I definitely can help you, but unfortunately the 2Z6E2AV product number didn't zero in exactly what the specifications are of your PC.

Please type in System Information in your lower Windows bar, click on System Information, and look to the right of "BaseBoard Product" and provide that information.

In addition, what processor do you got, what is the part number of your power supply, and do you have a graphics card -if so, what?

Kind Regards,

@mysticweee,

OK, your HP Pavilion Gaming Desktop TG01-2xxx is fitted with an Erica6 motherboard (SSID: 8906).

Your PC is very upgradeable.

One thing to consider is to upgrade your processor to a Ryzen 7 5700G (8-Cores, 16-Threads, 3.80 GHz up to 4.60 GHz, 65-watt TDP).

With a 400-watt power supply, you can power up to a smaller-sized (dual fan) RTX 4060, such as this model.  This graphics card upgrade (besides from graduating from an AMD card to a Nvidia card), would be very significant -worth it in my opinion, that is if you desire smooth gaming in 1080p ultra settings and high (100+) fps.

There is also a 500-watt power supply with p/n: 901759-013 or L05757-800. With a 500-watt power supply you could power a smaller-sized (dual fan) RTX 4060 Ti.

And there is even a 650-watt power supply with p/n: L57253-003 / L36049-003 which I used in my HP Pavilion TP01-3003w upgrade project, which you can use to power a smaller-sized (dual fan) RTX 4070, RTX 4070 Super or the RTX 4070 Ti.

Are there any AMD cards you would recommend? I typically prefer all amd systems

@mysticweee,

Well, I wouldn't recommend them, but I'll list them:

For the 400-watt power supply: a smaller-sized (dual fan) RX 6600, RX 6500 XT, RX 5500 XT

For the 500-watt power supply: a smaller-sized (dual fan) RX 7600 XT, RX 7600, RX 6700, RX 6650 XT, RX 6600 XT, RX 5700, RX 5600 XT

For the 650-watt power supply: a smaller-sized (dual fan) RX 7800 XT, RX 6750 XT, RX 6700 XT

@mysticweee,

Btw, it does not (yet?) appear that the latest AMD RX 90xx series graphics cards are compatible with your PC -similar story for the latest Nvidia RTX 50xx series cards.

Why are those series cards incompatible?

HP Recommended

@mysticweee,

Because these cards require specific microcode/updated BIOS version HP hasn't released (yet).

For example, I installed an RTX 5070 in an HP Pavilion TP01-3003w and it didn't work.
