So... i recently bought a second hand hp 6200 without ram, any sort of drive or a video card, but it was ok as i had from my old pc compatible ram, a GT 220 (ik it's a really bad gpu performer, but it's a temporary solution), a hdd and an optical drive. After installing everything i was put in front with the strange phenomenon of taking 20 minutes+ to post. As I bought it from a company that deals with sh and refurbished PCs mine was in warranty. I sent my PC to the shop and the technician there updated my bios and some hdd firmware.

Fun fact, at the moment of writing this post, my computer is being shipped back to me so I havent seen whether the problem was solved or not. That guy said it's solved, but im suspicious, as looking through forums, im not so sure if any other than the 2.28 version of bios works :)) and idk which version he installed, i suppose it's the 2.33 version and as far as i'm concerned there's no way of downgrading to the 2.28 one. Im hopping it's going to work though :))

Also, i would like to install a GT 1030 and an SSD, are they going to work with this version of bios ??? because ik that with some versions there are some graphics card compatibility issues.

@TheTheodosius , welcome to the forum.

Due to the age of your computer HP doesn't provide Software or Drivers for it.

Here are the SSD's that are recommended by Crucial Memory.  If Crucial recommends one of their products it is guaranteed to work.

You won't be able to use a GT 1030.  The newer cards require UEFI in the motherboard instead of a standard/Legacy BIOS.  HP didn't begin using UEFI until mid-October, 2012.  The last series of cards not to need UEFI were the GTX 660/670's.

Please click the Thumbs up + button if I have helped you and click Accept as Solution if your problem is solved.
