HP Pavilion Gaming Desktop TG01-2260xt PC
I am looking to replace the 1 TB Intel® SSD + 32 GB Intel® Optane™ memory that came in this PC. I’d like to know if either of the following SSDs are compatible with the above PC:
- Samsung 990 PRO NVMe M.2 SSD, 2 TB, PCIe 4.0, 7,450 MB/s Read, 6,900 MB/s Write, Internal SSD, for Gaming and Video Editing, MZ-V9P2T0BW: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0B9C4DKKG/?coliid=I3HXJ6UJRU0NOO&colid=LCV2Z8GZ1YV4&psc=1&ref_=list_c_wl_...
- SAMSUNG SSD 9100 PRO 2TB, PCIe 5.0x4 M.2 2280, Seq. Read Speeds Up to 14,800MB/s, Best for AI Computing, Gaming, and Heavy Duty Workstations (MZ VAP2T0B/AM): https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0DX2DPJZ5/?coliid=I2GUYJBKUPXJUI&colid=LCV2Z8GZ1YV4&psc=1&ref_=list_c_wl_...

Either of the drives would be compatible but your PC's Intel® H570 Chipset, according to the Intel specs at the link below is PCIe Gen 3.0, which means either drive would not run at its maximum advertised read/write speeds from the Gen 3 slot.
This table shows the maximum transfer speeds each PCIe slot generation can provide:

HP did offer a PCIe 4x4 NVMe SSD as an option but given the information regarding the chipset specs it is unlikely that the drive runs at its maximum advertised read/write speeds.
Given the fact that Gen 4.0 SSDs are not much more expensive than a Gen 3.0 SSD nowadays and even less expensive depending on the model, I would invest in a Gen 4.0 SSD.
