looks like any 8th generation intel will work as long as it is has built in graphics

If your existing CPU is rated at 35 watts and you jump to i7 and 95 watts you might have an overheating problem.  A fan that can handle 95 watts is usually much bigger and louder than one that is designed for 35watts.

Hi, @Tibbar999

An i7-880 won't work in your particular notebook because all Intel 1st gen quad core processors do not support the Intel HD graphics adapter your PC comes with.

Intel 1st gen core processors require a PC to come with a discrete AMD or Nvidia graphics adapter, which your PC does nor have according to the specs.

You can only install a dual core processor in your PC as it is currently configured.

You may be able to add a discrete MXM video card and heatsink to the PC, but I don't know which ones are supported, what heat sink is required or where to find the parts.

You also would need to know what power supply came with the models in that series that came with discrete graphics adapter.

It is a higher wattage than the one you have now.

Hello
this may indeed be complicated ..
The cost price for replacement, if possible
the difficulty of finding functional parts, and the difficulty of replacement
Otherwise you have an example here same motherboard
note that the power supply box will not be sufficient either
