Microsoft told me windows 10 will not update because the current BIOS is incompatible. Is there an update to thie BIOS or do I need to throw this computer out? 😉

Hi:
The latest BIOS update is listed under the W8.1 driver page for your model.
80.10 Rev.A | Jul 20, 2018 |
The only thing I don't know is what will happen if you try to update the BIOS in W10, when it only shows W8.1 as the supported operating system.

The page automatically defaults to the W10 drivers since you are running W10.
You need to change the OS to W8.1 in the drop down menu (Choose a different OS).
This is the direct link to the BIOS update...again...written for W8.1 only. Update the BIOS at your own risk on W10.

Thanks for your help. I found the dropdown and saw the BIOS link although using a BIOS update for an earlier OS doesn't seem like a very good solution to me.
I checked the list of the ALL in One HP computers that were tested for Win 10 and 23-k310 was not in the list. ;-(
All indications are there is no updated BIOS that will allow me to run Windows 10 on this machine. Do you have any other suggestions? [BTW - I have already purchased another touchscreen and have moved my data over.]

You're very welcome.
If you had previously upgraded to W10, you could try to clean install W10 and see if it will install that way.
Make the bootable USB installation media using the media creation tool at the link below.

I have PC's much older than yours that are all running the latest version of W10 just fine.
Some haven't had BIOS updates in years.

Thanks again. When I called Microsoft we tried all of that. That's when they finally said it was the BIOS.
What I'm doing now is a REFRESH of the system, which is removing all of the programs. I'll keep you posted. 😉

The REFRESH didn't work. It bombed. Error messages came up when it tried to reinstall Windows saying some components weren't working and then it did a restore, back to where it was, after several hours.
BTW The BIOS is 80.02 12/8/2014
I like your suggestion about taking it back to Win 8, then to Win 10. Especially since it looks like my computer went from Win 7 to win 10! The backup option in the Ctrl Panel says: "Windows Backup and Restore (Windows 7)".Any suggestions you can give me will be greatly appreciated. My husband would really like to add this computer to his array! LOL
