HP Pavilion 590-p0103wb
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

First off, I want to say that my HP Pavilion 590-p0103wb has a HP Pavilion 690 Sunflower motherboard in it

I wanted to turn off the power button LED since when I leave my PC on overnight, it is hard to sleep when the power button is glowing bright white, so I was wondering if I could use either some kind of software or move the power button wire inside the PC (I heard that as long as there's 3 pins plugged into the power button cord that it'll work without having the light on)

@McDonaldsJFK,

Welcome to our HP User Forum!

There are ways to physically disconnect the LED wire to your power button, but any source I looked at tells me that would be a bad idea.

Therefore, an easy-peasy reversible method I would recommend to use would be to take a black Sharpie aka a (semi) permanent marker and black out the offending LED power light.

Hope this was helpful.

Kind Regards,
