HP Z2 Tower G4 Base Model Workstation
Microsoft Windows 11

I'm trying to install an RTX 5060 in an HP Z2 Tower G4 Workstation.

After installing the card and pressing the power button, the workstation starts up, hangs for just under a minute, and then the power button flashes red with a tone three times, followed by flashing white with a tone three times.

All the drivers and BIOS are up to date, (which annoyingly has now also broken the audio output from the board) and the PSU is the HP 650W instead of the 500W.

Greetings @SjaaKn

Welcome to the HP Forum.

I would guess your PC's BIOS is having a problem talking to a PCIe 5.0 graphics card. I've seen this happen in this Forum on other older HP MBs.

You could poke around in the BIOS using the previous graphics card for a PCIe x16 lane negotiation setting.

Otherwise you might have to look at a PCIe 4.0 graphics card upgrade. Your MB does PCIe 3.0 so a PCIe 4.0 graphics card should work at the slower PCIe data transfer rates.

Regards
