Microsoft Windows 7 (32-bit)

I am having two questions these are as follows-

1) my ram is having 1600mhz frequency and the motherboard supports up to 1333mhz but my ram  is running with 800mhz frequency I want to increase it to 1333mhz  so can you please provide the steps for this .

2) I am also adding 2 GB ram in the another slot. I am going to purchase a DDR3( supported by motherboard) 2GB  1600mhz ram same as the preinstalled one so I if put this new ram in slot. Does the system will automatically change its frequency to 800mhz or 1333mhz? And when I do this process does it having any chances of system being crashed

@Sna52ke38bnw Welcome to HP Community!

I understand that you would like to upgrade the memory.

unfortunately, it is not possible to increase the frequency.

  • Dual-channel memory architecture

  • Two 240-pin DDR3 DIMM sockets

  • Supports DDR3 DIMMs

    • PC3-10600 (DDR3-1333)

    • PC3-12800 (DDR3-1600)

  • Non-ECC memory only, unbuffered

  • Supports 1 GB, 2 GB, 4 GB and 8 GB DIMMs

  • Supports up to 4 GB on 32-bit systems

NOTE: 32-bit systems cannot address a full 4.0 GB of memory.

  • Supports up to 16 GB on 64-bit systems

NOTE: Maximum memory shown reflects the capability of the hardware and can be limited further in the operating system.

If you are going to upgrade  2GB memory, you have to purchase the same frequency that is DDR3-1600 RAM.

Please see the motherboard specification of this computer.

It will not affect your computer.

You could purchase the part from HP, use the HP Parts surfer to identify the part: http://partsurfer.hp.com/search.aspx

And order it via the HP Parts store: https://parts.hp.com/hpparts/CountryChoice.aspx?mscssid=&ccode=ZZ&lcode=ZZ

Or alternatively, Contact HP for setting up an order/service via phone support
