Hello Community,

i recently bought myself a used HP Elitedesk to complete my workspace. As already before, i use a HDMI-KVM switch (Ugreen) to switch between my private and working pc.

In general, the switch works with both pcs and does its job. My problem just is that my USB devices (Keyboard and mouse) are not supported in the Bios / Pre-Boot enviroment, which is a problem for me as i use a pre-boot password.

I already changed the keyboard and checked all the bios-settings but - so far - without success. The keyboard wors fine - connected via KVM-Switch - in Windows and - without Swith also in Bios, but not connected via KVM in bios.

I think this might be an issue with the Bios USB driver. But bios has the latest firmware.

Sorry for my bad english and thanks so much in advance for any solution 🙂

Chris

If the devices work without the KVM switch, the issue is more likely to be in the firmware of the KVM switch.

I suggest going to UGREEN website to see if they have a more recent edition that the one that is installed in yours.

Here is the UGREEN downloads hyperlink.

I would have checked for you, but you did not include the model number of your KVM switch in your post.
