Hi @Surjeet4,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query. I will be glad to help you.

If your HP Victus keyboard is not working properly, here are the most effective steps to troubleshoot and potentially fix the issue:

1. Run HP Hardware Diagnostics for Keyboard

This will help determine if the issue is hardware-related:

  • Turn off your laptop.
  • Press the Esc key repeatedly while turning it on.
  • When the Startup Menu appears, press F2 to open HP PC Hardware Diagnostics UEFI.
  • Go to Component Tests > Keyboard Test.
  • Follow the on-screen instructions to test each key

2. Boot into Safe Mode

This checks if a third-party driver or software is causing the issue:

  • Hold Shift and click Restart from the login screen.
  • Go to Troubleshoot > Advanced Options > Startup Settings > Restart.
  • Press 4 to boot into Safe Mode.
  • Test the keyboard in Safe Mode.

3. Check Device Manager

  • Press Win + X > Device Manager.
  • Expand Keyboards.
  • Right-click your keyboard and choose Uninstall device.
  • Restart your laptop to reinstall the driver automatically.

4. Update or Reinstall Keyboard Drivers

  • Visit the HP Official HP® Support.
  • Enter your HP Victus model number (e.g., Victus 16-e0000).
  • Download and install the latest keyboard and chipset drivers.

5. Check for Windows Updates

  • Go to Settings > Windows Update.
  • Install all pending updates, especially optional driver updates.

6. External Keyboard Test

  • Connect a USB or Bluetooth keyboard.
  • If it works fine, the issue is likely with the built-in keyboard hardware.

I hope this helps.

Take care, and have an amazing day!
