I just purchased an HP desktop PC that came with a keyboard and mouse. I replaced my wireless keyboard with the one provided with the desktop. That HP keyboard is the worst I've ever used. After a day I switched back to my old keyboard. It missed or double/triple counted keystrokes. I was constantly going back to correct things to ensure that my reader could understand what I was trying to say.

@Luis196007, Welcome to HP Support Community,
Thank you for posting your query; I’m here to help by guiding you through steps to resolve this issue
Check for Interference (if wireless):
If the keyboard is wireless, make sure it's not too close to other wireless devices (like routers or Bluetooth accessories), which can cause interference. Try using it closer to the receiver.
Try a Different USB Port (wired or wireless dongle):
Plug the keyboard or its dongle into a different USB port directly on the PC — preferably on the back if it’s a desktop. Avoid using USB hubs or extension cables.
Update Keyboard Driver:
Go to Device Manager > Keyboards, right-click on the HP keyboard, and choose Update driver.
Select Search automatically for drivers.
You can also check Windows Update for optional updates that may include peripheral drivers.
Check for Sticky Keys or Filter Keys Settings (Windows):
Go to Settings > Accessibility > Keyboard.
Make sure Sticky Keys, Filter Keys, and Repeat delay aren’t enabled or set too high. These can cause missed or repeated keystrokes.
Test on Another Computer:
Plug the HP keyboard into a different computer. If the same issue occurs, the keyboard is likely the issue.
Run HP PC Hardware Diagnostics (if pre-installed):
Restart your PC and press F2 repeatedly at startup to access the hardware diagnostics.
Run the keyboard test to check for key press recognition problems.
I hope this helps.
Please feel free to reply here if you have any questions or if you need further clarification on any of the steps.
Take care and have a good day.
