Microsoft Windows 11

New-to-me HP OMEN 45L gaming PC (GT22-1470se), rig has the Cryo Chamber and NVIDIA RTX 4060 Ti GPU. Did add a WD Black 2TB SSD to an open slot, came with a WD Black 1TB stick for Windows (C:). 32GB Kingston Fury (2x16) RAM.

On initial bootup, all three of the LED lights on the front fans work and the fans themselves run. However, after the rig is finished booting up, the lights on the bottom fan stop working, but the fan still runs.

I did do some tinkering in both Light Studio and Gaming Hub to cut down the "intensity" of the lights...interior lights set to one color, Kingston Fury lights set to one muted color, the LED surround around the liquid cooler "manifold" and the front Omen "diamond" on the front of the case also set to one color. I went back and reset things to default in both apps and the problem still persists.

With the computer on, all the lights (with the exception of the GEFORCE RTX and Omen "diamond" lights) will "time out" after a brief period of inactivity...by that, I mean the PC is still on but ALL the LED lights go off. Moving the mouse brings back the lights on the upper two fans but not the bottom one

Is this a (known) issue or is it just because I haven't really stressed the components yet doing some moderate-to-heavier gaming where the fans would spin up to higher RPMs? Other than aesthetics, as long as the fan runs, I'm not too concerned...

Thanks!

Hi @Bendmac

Welcome to the HP support community.

I understand you're experiencing an issue with your HP device, and I apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused. I'm here to help you today.

Check Lighting Timeout: Disable any lighting sleep mode or timeout in OMEN Gaming Hub or Light Studio.

Check for Software Conflicts: Disable one of the lighting programs (Light Studio or Gaming Hub) to avoid conflicts.

Update BIOS & Software: Ensure BIOS, OMEN Gaming Hub, and Light Studio are up-to-date.

Reconnect LED Cables: Check if the bottom fan’s LED cable is securely connected.

Test Under Load: Run a game or stress test to see if the lights behave differently when the fan RPM increases.

I hope this helps! Keep me posted.
