Just wondering if two Hyper X Impact Intel Core Sodimm 8GB 2666Mhz is compatible with my old gen laptop which is HP and is an Intel Core I3

I don't quite understand your reference to old generation. But if you mean that you have a very old model of computer surely your processor first does not support 2666 (you must indicate the generation of the processor), second does not have BIOS compatible with XMP, if in the BIOS there is no option is not compatible. Using XMP memory in PC not compatible with this XMP memory is a lottery in the frequency that will work.
